Roots for Tomorrow: A Story of Global Impact and Local Compassion
Earlier this year, the Rotary E-Club of Global Trekkers created a fundraising initiative that brought together Rotarians and Rotaractors across continents, in service of our shared values: environmental stewardship and community support.
Spotlight on Service: Rotaract Club of Kitante, Uganda
The Rotaract Club of Kitante joined our global tree-planting efforts. They planted trees in Uganda to raise funds to support our campaign. In recognition of their outstanding service, our board asked them to retain those funds, to best serve their local community. Their choice of a 'good cause' was exemplified in true Rotaract spirit: on January 20, 2026, they provided meals for a 9-year-old girl recovering from surgery at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi. This compassionate action made a direct and meaningful difference in her recovery and well-being. Well done, Rotaract Club of Kitante!
Growing Peace Through Service
Our Rotary Global Trekkers enjoy many collaborations across the globe (as pictured above). We and our friends have planted trees in the United States, Australia (Resolute Ready), Mexico (E-Global Rotaract), the Philippines (Florence Nightingale Global Health) and Uganda (Rotaract Club of Kitante). The trees planted globally through this campaign symbolize not only our appreciation for Global partners but also the growth and sustainability of the initiatives we champion together. Each tree represents our commitment to a greener future and our dedication to serving communities in need.
Be part of our ongoing mission of service and peace. We meet every Monday at 6pm EST (New York, USA) via Zoom.
Bring your 'good cause' to our attention so together we can
Do Good Stuff!*
*Rotary District 7690 is actively promoting the "Do Good Stuff" initiative,
a theme for 2025-2026 focused on service above self through hands-on community projects, such as preparing meals at soup kitchens, assembling hygiene kits for the homeless, and engaging youth via Interact clubs (and other global initiatives). This effort emphasizes tangible, local/international, and immediate community impact.
